PANEL ONE

GLOTT: I WAS OUT PILLAGING YESTERDAY AND SET AGAINST THE HAZE OF COMBAT AND FIRE, I SAW THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BLUE BUTTERFLY.

TERRY: MAGICAL.

PANEL TWO

GLOTT: IT FLUTTERED AROUND ME, THEN IN FRONT OF ME, AS IF BECKONING ME TO FOLLOW IT.

TERRY: DID YOU?

Close on a stretch of sky just under the leaves of the tree. Glott’s nose and chin are visible below, most of him out of frame.

GLOTT: I SURE DID!
I THOUGHT ‘WHAT’S THE WORSE THAT COULD HAPPEN, WE’VE GOT THIS ONE IN THE BAG’ AND THEN I TOOK A STEP TOWARD IT.
WHILE IT WAS LEADING ME AROUND, EVERY SO OFTEN IT’D STOP AND DANCE IN THE SKY. I’D MAKE MY SWORD DANCE, AND YOU’D NEVER GUESS WHAT HAPPENED.

PANEL FOUR
A blue butterfly appears under the tree, Glott gazing toward it.

TERRY: YOU’D KILL A BUNCH OF GUYS?

GLOTT: I’D KILLA BUNCH OF GUYS!

TERRY: HAPPY COINCIDENCE OR SIGN FROM ON HIGH?

GLOTT: NOT SURE, BUT AFTER THE BATTLE WAS WON, IT RESTED ON THE TIP OF MY BLADE AND MY GOBLIN BLOODLUST TOOK OVER.
SLICED IT RIGHT IN TWO.

PANEL FIVE
Back to Glott and Terry under the tree again, Glott wagging an angry fist and Terry now facing the trunk and scooting away.

GLOTT: YEAH, SO UH, IF THAT WAS A SIGN FROM GOBLIN GOD THEN MAYBE THEY SHOULDN’T HAVE HAD THE BUTTERFLY GET INTIMATE WITH THIS BATTLE-DRUNK WARRIOR’S WEAPON.

TERRY: SHOULD I MOVE AWAY?
I-I DON’T WANT TO GET SMITTEN.
