Take a look. These types of modern fantasy books are just boring slop. There’s nothing in here that challenges the mind. Nothing that holds a mirror up to society. Nothing to think about.

Oh, Glott, not everything needs to be a deep think piece of satire and social commentary. Sometimes we just want to read tropey, weird-but-hot fantasy creatures doing battle and getting laid.

You might have a point there, Terry. Maybe I can enjoy this at face value.
